]]><![CDATA[Hope Springs Eternal]]>Fri, 06 Apr 2012 14:15:06 -0500http://www.junoday.com/4/post/2012/04/hope-springs-eternal.htmlAfter not playing together for nearly two and a half years, Zac, Tom and I have played three shows in as many months.  Joining us on drums has been new member Mike Mahoney, a UArts grad from the Philly area.  The sets have featured mostly new songs, with some early material from 2008 and 2009 finding its way into the set, as well.  We plan to record a full-length album (our first!) this summer, with a tentative release date of early December.

As for the spring season now upon us, we're hoping to keep getting tighter and play more shows.  As always, we'll keep you posted on our happenings, and we would love to hear from you.

]]><![CDATA[Strange Brew Rehearsal - "Up"]]>Sun, 11 Dec 2011 15:13:21 -0500http://www.junoday.com/4/post/2011/12/strange-brew-rehearsal-up.htmlIt's been a minute since my last post.  Life has been busy, filled with teaching, coaching football, training for the Philly Marathon, grad courses at Drexel, and having no social life whatsoever.  One of the unexpected joys of this fall has been getting to know three fantastic musicians, with whom I've formed a band.  We've decided to adopt Juno Day as the band name, and it's rumored that Zac Halbrook may even make an appearance at our first gig this coming Friday at Strange Brew Coffee in South Philly.  Here is a video of the new band rehearsing "Up"--with Jeremy Lawrence on bass, Mike Mahoney on drums, and Samantha Rise on vocals.

]]><![CDATA[Milkboy 3]]>Fri, 29 Jul 2011 00:40:23 -0500http://www.junoday.com/4/post/2011/07/milkboy-3.htmlI played my third open mic at Milkboy Coffee in Ardmore, PA this past Tuesday.  Played "Montana"--written last summer while living in "The Bromley House"--and "Legos"--the last Juno Day song to be completed before the final gig at Johnny Brenda's in 2009.  Within the first few bars of "Montana" I dropped my pick...the video below picks up immediately after.
